The McQuade family had carved out a homestead from a fierce Montana mountainside and paid for it in blood; two brothers and a mother were buried in the soil of Rocky Butte. Now, Colin and Kevin McQuade must get 200 head of cattle down to the 5th Infantry at the Tongue River, even though Crazy Horse's Oglala Sioux and Sitting Bull's -Hunkpapa Sioux--fresh from the Little Big Horn--are riding wild in the land.
