Wolf Cub's Song

Grandmother Moon and all of the stars are ready to dance and light up the sky. The mother wolf guides the cub to the rest of the pack, who are waiting for her voice to join with theirs. Writing from the Abenaki tradition, Bruchac's simple, emotional story conveys the power of the group and the value of honoring one's contributions. The impressionistic oil paintings energize the telling with strong scenes of sorrow giving way to song.
