In a castle-like home surrounded by lovely, formal gardens in south Florida, a father makes a dying request of his daughter--that she preserve the Castle Loma for his beloved wife, an invalid by "strange circumstances." When Veronica learns not long after her father's death, that her brother has gambled away the estate, she is faced with a bitter choice.

Once man loves her. The other Count Holman Devonshire, new owner of the Castle Loma, wants a wife in name only and offers her a solution for the family she has promised to protect.

Torn between her promise to her father and a heart longing for love and companionship, Veronica must seek the answers to her future.
