Who Goes Home?

Detective Chief Superintendent Tom Pollard and his wife Jane are on vacation--which doesn't mean that murder is too. Idly noticing a dilapidated farmhouse in the countryside where they are walking, and a young man vainly attempting to raise someone inside of it, they go on their way. But they will hear more of the farmhouse and the young man.

Shortly afterward, the farmhouse is set on fire, and investigating police, strongly suspecting arson,find evidence that it has been used as a storehouse for drugs. But even more disconcerting is the discovery of a man's skeleton in the bricked-up chimney...
