A Guardian dragon's hibernation is longer and more arduous than other dragons. Along with the Shadow dragons, they are the silent protectors of their sleeping brethren and must be vigilant, even knowing that only one of them among many will be chosen at the end by the Virgin. The Virgin is the stuff of legends. The one woman who can choose from all the dragon Guardians. But she can only choose one. Her virtue, once sacrificed, is the key to completing the ritual to end their hibernation. Dante awakens to find that he is the lucky dragon chosen by one chaste yet adventurous young former nun. Once given her trust, he vows he will not waste the gift for as long as he lives.
