Against her family's wishes, Mississippi-born filmmaker Lorraine Barbette breaks her engagement to a man she doesn't love and flies to gorgeous Senegal to shoot a career-making cultural documentary. Then the devastatingly handsome diplomat Momar Diallo captures her attention.

Strong-willed and fiercely protective of his country, Momar is wary of the film, yet drawn to Lorraine by a powerful desire.
