Where Lies Our Hope

The great depression had taken its toll on the Harrington family. Losses of crops, of property, of independence had forced them to join the exodus westward from the Texas heartland, leaving everything but their faith behind.
But not forever, I'll be back one day to marry Titus, thought Marvel. Little did she know how severely her hope would be tested. A tragic accident on the journey West destroys the family's dream of reaching Oregon. Instead, they travel to California where they are forced to labor as migrants in order to survive. As was escalates in Europe, Titus writes to Marvel that he is being sent on assignment overseas. Then comes devastating news.
In shock, Marvel soon finds herself falling in love with Philip, a British captain who resembles Titus. But is it Philip or Titus she sees? Must she go without both loves in order to honor her commitment to the one?
