Shawn Kerrigan is given the ultimatum to choose between his girlfriend or the portrait of a woman he painted a decade ago. Torn, he chooses to sell the painting.
In downtown Chicago, Alice Su admires the enchanting Christmas Tree Lighting with her best friend May. They meet Ashley, a painter, and she invites them to her art exhibition.

On Black Friday, Alice and May walk into the gallery just as Shawn is walking out. When Alice sees the painting that resembles her, she dashes out and buys a one-way ticket to Atlanta for Christmas Eve. On the same day, Shawn plans to propose to his girlfriend.

May enters into a frantic race against time. She teams up with Ashley, her beau Neal, and his daughter Casey to create the perfect chance encounter for Alice and Shawn.
