About This Book
Meet Tom Wilder – ex-Special Ops Afghanistan War hero – the man they turn to when there's a crisis too hot for others to handle. But will the task he's given this time prove to be his mission impossible?
The Russian President is out to steal the West's latest high-tech weapon of war. It's so powerful that the West won't use it as innocent civilians would suffer. The Russians have no such scruples. They'll do whatever it takes to steal the technology and use it against the West.
Wilder learns what's coming his way - Moscow's most powerful Mafia organisation teamed up with some of the Russia's top SVR RF agents. He knows that the stakes couldn't be higher – but can he and his small team defeat the Russians' many attacks and keep the West safe from catastrophe? It's a fight that only one side can win.
If you enjoy the way Jack Reacher, Harry Bosch or John Puller tackle crises, you'll love Tom Wilder. So why not meet him today in this gripping thriller?
Interview with the Author
Q.Why did you choose someone like Tom Wilder as the main character of your series?
A.Because I enjoy books with characters like him –Jack Reacher, Leopold Blake and John Milton. They give authors a chance to weave action-packed stories of conspiracies, assassinations and general mayhem to which the principle characters can respond. However tough the opposition or the situations in which they find themselves, characters like Tom Wilder have the skills and the will to win to give readers a good read for their money.
Q.Why did you pick a background of cyber-warfare? Isn't that something one reads about in the newspapers though it doesn't seem to affect many people?
A. I understand that many have not yet been affected by cyber-warfare and therefore aren't that interested in it – at least maybe not just yet. The trouble is, cyber-attacks, by either state teams or organised crime are going to get worse and are going to affect more people. I believe that something like the Gemini cyber-weapon I've invented for my stories will become a reality one day. Then wars may be won or lost by clever people with computers, rather than by conventional arms and missiles. Massive crimes will also become difficult if not impossible to counter.
Q. I see that you picked the Russians and some females as Wilder's opponents, Why have you done that?
A. I hope that the choice of the Russians is easy to understand. During the Cold War and ever since, they've been seen by us in the West as our main adversaries. Nowadays they're very good at cyber-warfare. I think they're unlikely to take on the West with conventional weapons – they know they'd lose in the end. So cyber-warfare is a no brainer for them. As for female protagonists and antagonists – I've chosen to use both because I think maybe they come as more of a shock when they appear as adversaries and sometimes they can be more difficult than men to deal with.
Q. And why did you pick e-books for your thriller series rather than traditional publishers?
A. Unlike traditional publishing, e-books allow authors can build a relationship with their readers. It's a great way for readers to tell authors what they think about their books. And when readers leave a review, they help others to find the books they've enjoyed. When people spend their good money and take the time to read one of my books – I just hope in return I give them a few hours of enjoyable escape from a busy world. And when they're done, they have an easy way to tell me if I did a good job for them or not.
