What Future?

In 2010 a flu virus spread from overseas to the United States, killing children and others that had fragile immunity. By 2012 they had found that the vaccination and so called ‘cure’ had only suppressed the virus and kept it hidden until it mutated and surfaced. The virus raged throughout the country killing children and older people first and then it attacked the healthy. The burning bodies allowed the virus to go airborne. It seemed like Nostradamus had been right. Humanity was being destroyed.

Kelly Martin and her brothers had been exposed to the disease before they were quarantined in a mountain bunker that was owned and operated by their father. Ten year old Keith had been born at the foot of the mountain where his mother died. Kelly and Kevin cared for their newborn brother and each other as they fought the disease and mutated into something different. The children had almost white hair and brilliant green eyes. Their skin was an olive tan color.

By 2020 they were finished. They had to leave the mountain and try to survive outside of the bunker. Every day seemed to be a struggle of life and death. They were the future. If they could trace the virus to its source, humanity may have a chance. Who knew that the government was using the virus as a biological weapon and it about destroyed the world? The man that started it all still lived. He was still attempting to rule the country. If they didn’t find a way to stop him, he would succeed in destroying the world once and for all.
