Wedding Bells for Willow

Willow's wedding day had dawned at last but to her younger sister, Anchusa, the church bells seemed to be saying "Who shall we send . . . to fetch her away . . . Fetch her away?"

Standing beside the best man, her ardent admirer, Guy, Anchusa was haunted by the memory of that mysterious stranger, who had accosted her in the London station buffet.

When the bells changed to "Ring for the bride . . . ring for the bride . . . Who does next?" Anchusa had an uneasy presentiment that she would "go next" and that the sinister-looking stranger --- the only man ever to put her to flight --- would come to "fetch her away".
