Emily and DeeDee have been best friends practically their entire lives. But while DeeDee is interested in men and clothing, Emily cares for her art and budding career as a painter. Without jeolousy or desire, she contentedly watches DeeDee's never-ending parade of men.

But DeeDee's newest boyfriend, Joshua Taylor, is different from the others. In fact, he soon becomes as good a friend to Emily as DeeDee and their friendship deepens naturally.

However, Josh and Emily realize the warmth between them has grown into love, Emily knows there is only one course of action. Josh must say goodbye to a brokenhearted DeeDee, and to Emily, who must hide her pain and longing.
