The Silk Road Convoy was the oldest, richest, and safest caravan in the starlanes--a perfect target for the devastating opening blow in the alien Morthan Solidarity's war against the Alliance. The LS-1187 was a destroyer-class starship, untested in battle, too untried to have earned a name. Her mission: to join a thousand-ship convoy to protect the outworlds against marauders.
