50 log entries for the CSS Viper for the year 2284. These are the events that make sailing the black waters of space interesting. Some are major encounters with aliens. Some are events about crew life. Some the skipper is still trying to figure out.
These are written in short story format. Captain Roman finds himself as the contact for a group of aliens who live in the abyss. His also is the only ship to make contact with the Brethren, an alive but not living race that actually drives everyone nuts.
This is the first of a planned 7 book series, one for each year.
While all are part of the Black Water Universe, many of the books in that series are not relative.
