VATE Inside Stories

VATE Inside Stories is a collection of practical teaching notes on various literary texts and films written by members of the Victorian Association for the Teaching of English (in Australia). They are written by experienced teachers for secondary school teachers and their students (VCE English), but may be useful for tertiary students as well. Each text guide contains background information and a historical background of the text and author, activities to do in class with students, a running sheet of each chapter/section/scene, a perspective on the text, text analysis, character outlines, discussion of issues and themes in the text, notes on language and style, close reading of passages/scenes, activities and essay topics. These in-depth analytical text guides help prepare students for exams, tests, essay writing and text analysis.
