Vasily & The Works

A novella set in the Irredente universe.

Young Vasily Alexseyev inherits a great manufactory from a successful, overbearing father but must first wait for his mother to step down as regent. She's reluctant, having found her calling and being filled with worry that the dilettante Vasily isn't ready. Impatient to claim his mantle, and resentful over his perceived mistreatment, Vasily takes matters into his own hands. Having entered a software coding competition on a lark, he decides to use his competition entry to inject something of himself into the Works' mainframe computer. When the Works comes crashing down, feudal Linnet, a world ruled by industrial oligarchy, will be changed forever.
