Valley of Blood

Alice lay still against the grass and tried not to move. It was easier than she thought. She was so terrified that moving proved impossible. She turned her head to watch as the girl ran into the fray with some sharp object in each hand. There was an inhuman growl, though not entirely inhuman, and just then the graveyard lights flickered on. Alice could see the scene clearly. Near the place where Mickey and his friends had sat smoking their weed, there were four shadowy figures, dressed all in black, looking very pale in the cemetery's lanterns. They stood around three misshapen lumps that were once her brother and his friends. The girl went right into the middle of them, brandishing her weapons, which Alice could now see were long, sharpened pieces of wood. The creatures attacked her, moving faster than any human had a right to, but the girl moved quickly too. Not as quickly as her attackers, but fast enough to impale two of the things before they reached her.
