Maribetha is very young a cubbling in werewolf terms until she hits her twenty-fifth birthday that is still five years away. Maribetha is given the honor to join the run a security sweep of the refuge for her people. She and her father are attacked Edodus reports poachers before falling into a coma and she is taken. The hunt begins. The Valkyrie sisters bred from the same mother, Tabitha, wife to the Mother of Them All. Alruna, tall blonde hair the Noble leader of the group, Randgrid co-leader tall like Alruna with auburn hair, and protector of Roata the smallest of them and the most exotic with grey hair and eyes, Herja the tech specialist favored by their mother, Tabitha, beautiful in her own right tall as the first two sisters with black hair. They were bred for the hunt by the Mother of Them All and taught how to kill if need be, the mother calls them home. The youngling Maribetha was taken and now it is a race against time to save her before unforeseen enemies track her down and kill her. Along the way the sisters will grow personally, learn about their powers and fight to the death to save the one they were sent to save. This is fight to the death and a fight for a new beginning where they will be changed irrevocably and grow together as a family in the end.
