Darrell Rivers returns to Malory Towers at the beginning of the summer term in her Fourth Year, all set for fun -- and hard work!

At last her kid sister Felicity is able to begin in the First Form. But it looks as though Felicity is going to let herself be dominated by Alicia's cousin, bossy, know-it-all June. The theme of domination takes an ugly turn when two new girls, twins, join the Fourth Form. Managing Connie overshadows her quiet, shy sister Ruth--with dire results. It is up to Darrell, as head of the form, to get to the bottom of the trouble.
