Maxey Burnell runs an alternative newspaper, dates a cop, and is now on to a story that's getting weirder all the time. A local preservationist who makes her living painting steamy covers for romance novels is trying to save a historic Victorian mansion that once housed a brothel. Sure that at least one runaway car is connected to the abandoned mansion, Maxey plunges into a case of a missing person, a murder, and arson in the heart of beautiful Boulder -- where asking too many questions has suddenly become unsafe at any speed....
