Henry Shaw from Richmond decides he will join the Union Army because of his values. He meets Abel Adams, a former Texas Ranger and a follower of Sam Houston. They both serve throughout the war in Virginia, California, New Mexico, D.C, and Georgia. This book is suitable for both adults and teenagers. Real, but little known events and facts about the war are covered and have been checked. Both men and women portrayed in this book are strong, as well as amusing at times.
