About This Book

Unchained is a contemporary and diverse collection of fiction and poetry by established writing group, Bristol Women Writers.

The book was inspired by the 400th anniversary in 2013 of Bristol's original ‘chained' library. It contains fiction and poetry by 10 writers from Bristol Women Writers group and an introduction by flash fiction author Tania Hershman.

The book will be launched at the Bristol Central Library on Wednesday October 23 as part of Bristol Festival of Literature.

Profits from the book will be donated to the National Literacy Trust, an independent charity that works to help all children in the UK learn to read and write.

Delve in to discover how centuries of well-thumbed pages and the remarkable Bristol Central Library building has liberated the writers' imagination.
