About This Book

Sam was walking through the woods from Old Tiles when she came across Angela, one of the German girls, sitting on an old bench. "Hello," Sam called out "Guten Tag," Angela smiled evilly at Sam. "I have date with Tom. He asked me to meet him here." She told Sam in German. Sam had learned German at school and understood every word the girl was saying. "With my Tom?" she asked Angela. "Jawohl - Oh, yes - We like." Sam felt sick. No - no - no," she was saying silently to herself. "Tom would never do that to me. We are forever. He's always promising me," but when she reached Woodcutters, she noticed a big black horse in the distance, trotting by the side of the lake. To her dismay, she recognised the rider at once. She tore into the cottage and sat with her head in her hands. "No, Tom. Please no. I won't believe it." And unfortunately for both of them, vowed not to mention the incident to him.
