The highlight of Jennifer Monroe's life is her job. Working as a defense attorney for her father's firm in New York City is exciting, fast-paced, and challenging; unlike the rest of Jennifer's life. Her relationship with her father is strained, and she can't seem to let go of the resentment she holds toward him for shipping her off after her mother's death when she was seven. Everything begins to turn around when Jennifer meets the sexy and mysterious former NYPD Detective, Lucas Benjamin. Lucas has everything, except his memory of the night he failed to save his parents from a murderers fire. Things are heating up with Jennifer and Lucas until she discovers that her father defended the man who murdered Lucas' parents.
