Bill Nordstrom knew something was odd when the squirrel he was feeding ignored the nuts and raisins...and devoured the plastic bag! The squirrel turned out to be Tweedlioop, a squirrel-like alien, lone survivor of a spaceship crash in the Alaskan wilderness. Tweedlioop was young, intelligent, and at the mercy of Earth's inhabitants.

Bill wanted to help Tweedlioop find his people. So did Danni, a sharp, sympathetic lawyer, and Danni's nine-year-old daughter Laurie, who could feel for Tweedlioop the way no adult could. But the President of the United States and the Secretary-General of the United Nations had different ideas. and re-uniting Tweedlioop with his own kind involved some exciting escapades, and some very close shaves.
