About This Book

'Twas the Night Before Iron Bowl is a newly released picture book by long-time journalist and Auburn University graduate, Kelly Kazek. The book, licensed by Auburn and the Iron Bowl, is written in rhyming stanzas accompanied by photo illustrations that Kazek created from photos by Tracy Fulks and Rebecca Croomes. The poem tells of the rivalry between Auburn and the University of Alabama known as The Iron Bowl, the name given one of the most hard-fought rivalries in college football. For many decades, the game was played on neutral territory in Birmingham, known for its steel industry, which is how the game got its name. Within its pages, Auburn fans young and old will learn of Tiger traditions, including rolling Toomer's Corner, the Tiger Walk, the fight song, the eagle's flight and more.
