About This Book

Lee Korchuk is just hitting her stride as a photographer for a large museum in Toronto. Now she and her boss, scientist Oliver Caldwell, have set out on the adventure of a lifetime, way up in northern Canada where a mysterious guide, Jackson Shea, has discovered ancient Indian ruins.

The three of them set out in a houseboat along the wild shores of Deer Lake. It does not go smoothly at all. Some of the sites have been vandalized and robbed. There is danger all around, from the thieves that remain elusive, as well as the wildlife and the lake itself.

Jackson teaches her basic survival skills and she grows confident enough to shed her polished city image. Lee is drawn to the handsome guide but as they plunge deeper into the wilderness, she begins to suspect that he is holding back information.

As the mystery of the poachers increases, so do their feelings for one another. But whether they can ever fully trust each other remains to be seen.
