Lucas didn't want to take Emily with him on the dive to recover the sunken diamonds, but he didn't have much choice. Her company was paying the bill, so if Emily wanted to come along, come along she would. Never mind that he found her more distracting than any woman had a right to be.

He soon had more to worry about than whether she was up to the dive or not. Pirates, or the modern-day equivalent, were on their trail. But even after Lucas had engineered their escape, he was in more danger than he knew, because a man whose heart belonged to a woman could never really be free again.
