During her first year out of college Lesley had enjoyed working in public relations for her Uncle Graham Chadwick, the director of the Unicorn society Institute. Now she felt that it was time for her to go out and work in the field.

However, her feelings were mixed when she discovered her uncle had arranged for her to accompany his new, young manager, Thane Fraser, on his expedition. Under Thane's arrogant jurisdiction Lesley knew she would have to struggle to assert her hard-won independence. Worse yet, she felt herself inevitably drawn to the desire she read in his dark eyes.
