About This Book

Sarsfield Manor, a palatial home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, has seen more than its share of horror and tragedy. It was built by four wealthy brothers in the eighteenth century, who abruptly committed suicide some years after it was constructed. Many years later, John Kenneth Sarsfield was carted away to an insane asylum for reasons no one can ascertain.

In 1937 the members of the Sarsfield family have been brought to the manor by the terms of the strange will of John Kenneth Sarsfield, who had set up a riddle that they must solve on the premises. Private investigator Joe Scintilla is brought in to investigate a bizarre murder seemingly committed by his school friend, Charles Jameson, who was found holding a dagger that had been plunged into the back of his aunt, Judith Kellar. But this crime is only the final act of a tragedy that reaches back centuries, making Sarsfield Manor a house haunted by deeds of unthinkable violence.
