Town Trap

Four preteens face magical dangers and dastardly plots in this action-packed fantasy. (Kirkus Reviews) Michael, the prince of Livingstone, is in training to become a magician. Eager to be respected for his own talents, he doesn't share his parentage with his first new friend, Lee. When the two of them get trapped in a strange land by the machinations of Michael's uncle, the wicked professor Barclay, they must team up with a pair of girl magicians, Joan and Azashema, to survive and save the lives of people cursed by the evil goddess Azamerie, who's in league with Barclay. Michael and Lee tumble from one action sequence to the next, constantly fighting monstrous creatures or solving magical conundrums. Joan and Azashema have magical powers, but despite their abilities, they rely on Michael for leadership. Michael manages to survive the initial attacks, but Barclay's dastardly plot has just begun.
