Kegan Blaise has an unusual psychic talent. She can ‘read’ the history of anything she touches. When called to recount the history of an ancient sarcophagus, Kegan unknowingly releases a beingâ€"a lethal dethroned Warrior King seeking retribution and reinstatement of his Kingdom.

To Kegan’s untimely bad luck, he sees her as a possible ally of his enemies and takes her with him.

Along the way they pick up a delightful pet gargoyle, overcome betrayal and murder, and hopefully can trust each other enough to realize the love between them is worth it all.
