Your long-range scout vessel encounters a humanoid species, and attempts to make contact. What you discover, though, is a race which wants no contact, and is willing to kill to prevent it. This new race, the Bryce, is very effective at avoiding others, because the touch of the Bryce brings excruciating pain and quick death! You could decide to leave this new race alone -- but now that's impossible because the Bryce are coming after you! How do you fight an enemy whose mere presence can kill you, whose appearance is that of any average human, and who is so terrified of your existence that he will go to any lengths to eradicate you?
