Topaz Steals the Show

Topaz L'Amour is ecstatic—she's won a place at the Precious Gems Stage School! But in the competitive world of show business, singing into a hairbrush and tap dancing on the bathroom floor with drawing pins in your trainers count for nothing. Topaz quickly learns that life at stage school is hard work. Topaz's new friends at Precious Gems have to deal with their own problems: Sapphire longs for her movie-star mother to take an interest in her life and accept that she doesn't want to go into show business. Ruby would love to perform but can't get over her crippling stage fright. And Topaz doesn't just have to cope with lack of experience and training—the scheming and ambitious Octavia Quaver, from Rhapsody's Theater Academy, is doing her best to steal the limelight.
