Tom Swift and the Transcontinental Bulletrain

With the nation's road and rail infrastructure falling apart, the President hatches a plan for a high-speed bullet train to go coast to coast in under 18 hours. But, not for people. Freight trains. Swift Enterprises is one of several companies chosen to complete this project in the unrealistic timeframe of just one year! Tom must devise a way to cross the most inhospitable parts of the U.S. while trying to work with companies that are jealous, uncooperative, and want more of the project, trying to find out who is behind a plot to sabotage both the project as well as the good name of Swift Enterprises, and striving to overcome attempts that threaten his and Bud's lives, as well as that of his father.
