      Lesser known than his Little Critter series, Mercer Mayer created the Tink! Tonk! series of children's books in the mid-80's, as one can easily tell by the blocky pixel-like robot drawings and the Devo-inspired headwear. (Apparently there were even Tink Tonk video games for Atari, Commodore 64 and Apple II computers.) Tinka is the main character of this early-reader board book which tells us about all of the misadventures she and her friends have while baking a birthday cake for their friend Tink.
