Tilly's Family

Autocratic Augusta Quayle had given Tilly Reeder a vital chance to make something of her life, despite being aware of the painful secret in her past. When Augusta's sister-in-law Rosa Searle writes to say that one of her children is desperately ill, Tilly is sent to the Isle of Sheppey to help out. The ancient, draughty cottage by the sea wall swiftly becomes a home from home and Rosa and her child become Tilly's second family.
