Marissa Harrington moved back home to Avalon, New Jersey to escape the fast-paced life she was living in New York City. She lands a job in a real estate office where she meets three brothers who are renting the Charming House, a mansion right on the beach. They are successful writers who are not only talented but are good-looking enough to make any woman take notice, and Marissa is no exception. When Jake, Rob, and Colin Morgan find out she has been a copy editor in New York, they approach her to help them with some editing.
