This Is the End

Chase L. Aughter, freelance author sets out to save the world from aliens, one of which turns out to be his best friend and neighbor growing, but now his arch rival for the affections of Audrey, a college student caught in the love triangle between the two foes, both now and int the very distant future. Captain Churd is the engineered human prototype that was to be permanent and not left to the cares of a God science thinks it no longer needs. The supercomputer that created him, called a God computer sets in motion the creating of a whole race of humans designed to have no need of God as creator. The experiment doesn't live up to some people's expectations and as aliens come onto the scene again later in the book it all comes down to a war of wits and a stand off with police.
