About This Book

It is just after the turn of the century, late autumn in Northern Wisconsin and another lumbering season is about to begin. Soon the camps will be filled with men to do the winter harvest, while their families try to continue the social affairs of the little village. Into this mix comes a mysterious stranger, unfamiliar with life in the Wisconsin wilderness. Before long he is enmeshed in the lives of this hardy class of people and faced with weighty decisions about love and loyalty. If he can survive his days in a lumber camp and sort out the feelings in his heart, he may just have a chance for romance before his past catches up to him.
