When Megan O'Connell met David McMuir, she was swept off her feet by the charming Irishman and their courtship ended in marriage before either really knew much about the other. A chance meeting with Siobhan Dubtina, David's old flame, forces Megan's new husband to confess some startling facts: He's a faery. One of the Little People. And not just any of the fae, but a faery wizard, the Champion of White Fire, sent to protect the Earth from invasion by Siobhan's brother, a dark wizard and David's deadly rival.

Exeter has timed his assault to coincide with the Harmonic Convergence, a magical alligning of planets when White Fire magic will be at its weakest. As the Convergence begins, David is recalled to Ais Linn and Megan braves the Portal's dangers to follow him. The only mortal in a magical realm, she finds herself the Dark Lord's prisoner, a pawn in the fight against her husband.
