Fleur Lansing was happy in her job as a sociology teacher at Mitchell University. Vivacious, self-assured, she was a young woman to whom success came easily and for whom life, despites its occasional setbacks and disappointments, was glowing with promise. And excitement as well, particularly in the person of the attractive stranger who had suddenly asked her to dance at the university's annual masquerade ball--and who then disappeared just as mysteriously without leaving a clue to his identity.
