In a Georgian house isolated atop a cliff, Judith Ardley was alone, exposed to the disembodied shadows that fell across the patio, to cryptic messages that came for her absent husband, to a fear she had never known existed.

Where was Phillip? Why did he make those mysterious trips, leaving her to face nights of nameless terror?
