The Wilderness Bird

Abbie Somerford, daughter of a country vicar, had been happily planning her approaching wedding when she discovered her husband-to-be and her best friend were lovers. Her dreams in ruin, she packed her bags and left home to work in London. Here amid the lonely wilderness of the big city, she finds unexpected help and companionship. By chance she rescues another lonely and sad creature - a rare African bird, a Red-Breasted Turaco, which she calls Solomon. The bird brings her new friends together, and causes her meeting with conservationist Perry Farquhar, over from Africa on a fund-raising trip for his wildlife trust. Abbie, Perry, and Solomon find their search for love and happiness leads them back to Africa, to the wild that heals their loneliness.
