About This Book

This is actually The Web by Sydney Horler

When Peter Crichton, Fleet Street Newshound, was detailed by Editor Dave Laverty to write a first-hand story of London's underworld, little did he realize that he was embarking upon the most exciting adventure of his career. At the very beginning of his investigations he stumbled upon the murdered body of Simon Handcart, in a dingy attic, where he had arranged to meet him.

From then on, Crichton is errevocably enmeshed in "The Web," the most vicious and effiecently organized "crime ring" that London has ever known, controlled by a master-criminal, "Blue Eyes" Cotton.

Christine Blair, Crichton's beautiful mistress, a voluptuous exotic creature, introduces dangerous complications by falling in love with Crichton. From then on the plot develops, with Crichton treading a hazardous path between the dual personality "Blue Eyes." Crichton and the alluring but viciously immoral, Christine Blair.
