The Water of Sunlight

Onita Saunders sells her body for a living on the streets of New York. She has only two loves in her life, her baby son, Hani, and crack. When her addiction leads to Hani's death, Onita blames her dealer and tries to take him out but, instead, she lands in prison. During intake she learns the monkey's been riding her back - Onita has HIV. She sinks into a spiral of despair and hopelessness until a reunion with her mother results in a revelation about her past that helps Onita conquer her addiction and take charge of her health. When prison authorities threaten to segregate the HIV positive women from the mainstream population, Onita decides to fight back and reclaim her life and her dignity.
