"Aspiring artist Kim Price ran out of money in High Water, Nevada on her 21st birthday. As a birthday gift her childhood sweetheart offered her a ticket home and marriage; but Kim felt she needed to try her wings a little more before accepting. Tom Knowler agreed and insisted that only the immature left the byways of dreams when the walking grew difficult. He offered Kim a job in a local casino. But this outraged the girl as a compromise with principles and she rejected Tom's offer, too. That left her with her brush and her ideals--without sixpence in her pocket and a long way from the moon."
