Fort Jamison, 1841: To this farthest outpost of civilization on the Saskatchewan River came young red-headed Allan MacInnes, in search of a long-lost mystery girl. To survive, he was forced to learn the art and craft of the bold rivermen called voyageurs.

As his quest continued, he found himself falling in love with petite Ella, daughter of the head man of Fort Jamison - and in violent conflict with the dangerous Tony Gaspard, fiercest of all the voyageurs. Meanwhile, dark forceswere spinning a net to entrap and destroy the reckless young explorer.
