The Virgin Cure

Book two in Kibera's Silent Cry series, The Virgin Cure brings us back to Kenya in the life of Ajene Jabari, who now has adopted three children: Moses, Kamau, and their sister Nyah. Ajene risked his life and rescued the three siblings from the sweltering slums of Kibera after their mother died tragically of AIDS. Now, Ajene's worst nightmares come to life when his daughter Nyah returns to Kibera on a school trip and her innocence is taken away by a man who is influenced by a witch doctor to cure his AIDS with a young virgin. Nyah contracts the deadly virus, but even through her suffering, she still feels for the helpless and hurting ones in Kibera. Readers will experience the shock, hurt, anger, and forgiveness that is shown by Ajene and Nyah, knowing that more has to be done to stop the ones who prey on and discriminate against the innocent, and to get active in the cause to help others who are suffering.
