An opportunity of escape arises, when he holds a female alien captive and he and the men are eventually released. With the help of the alien female, they manage to escape onto a spacecraft, when it arrives with more captives. With time running out, the female tries to stall the aliens from storming the ship, so that they can get away. When her father dies after battling the aliens, that now inhabit the Earth, Rebecca and her mother are left to venture into town on their own for food. When they encounter aliens and her mother dies, Rebecca is left alone to fend for herself at 14 years of age. The battle to keep alive is complicated by the freezing temperature, lack of food and constant battles with the aliens. How will it end?
